North Street

North Street runs northward from the central crossroads towards the residential areas of Park Road and beyond. Like its counterparts, it is one of the four original streets of the medieval town. The street has a commercial character near the crossroads, with shops and services, transitioning to residential further north. The street is part of the B2149 and carries traffic heading towards Petersfield Road and the northern suburbs. North Street provides access to Havant Park and the residential streets of the Park Road area. The buildings are a mix of periods, with little surviving from the earliest phases of the town's development. The street functions as a working route through the town rather than a destination in its own right.
