East Street
Street guide, Havant
East Street runs from the historic crossroads at the centre of Havant towards St Faith's Church and beyond. It is one of the four original streets that define the medieval town plan. The street has a mix of commercial premises near the crossroads and residential properties further east. St Faith's Church, the principal parish church of Havant, stands prominently on the southern side. The Havant Museum is located here, housed in a building that tells the story of the town's long history. East Street retains some period character, with older buildings surviving amid later redevelopment. The street is a main route through the town and carries a steady flow of traffic heading towards Denvilles and Emsworth.
