Warblington Castle Ruins

Historic Site, Havant

The ruins of Warblington Castle stand beside St Thomas a Becket Church on the harbour shore at Warblington. Only a single octagonal tower and fragments of wall survive from the sixteenth-century fortified manor house. The castle is associated with Margaret Pole, Countess of Salisbury, who was executed in 1541. The ruins are a scheduled monument and stand in a peaceful setting with views across the harbour. The combination of the ancient church, the castle ruins and the open harbour landscape makes this one of the most atmospheric historic sites in the Havant area.
