New Lane Area

Established residential area east of the centre with a mix of housing periods, good station access, and a settled community character.

The New Lane area covers the residential streets to the east of the town centre, centred on New Lane itself and the streets branching off it. This is one of the more established residential parts of Havant, with a mix of Victorian, Edwardian and inter-war properties alongside some later development. The area has a slightly more characterful feel than the post-war estates further out, with older houses showing the architectural variety of their different periods. New Lane connects the town centre to Denvilles and ultimately to Emsworth, and it carries a steady flow of local traffic. The area is well served by the town centre shops and the railway station, both within walking distance. Elm Lane, Dunhurst Lane and the surrounding streets provide quiet residential addresses close to the heart of Havant. Properties in this area are popular with families and commuters who value the proximity to the station and the relative affordability compared to Emsworth. The area has a settled, community feel, with residents who have often lived in the same streets for many years.
